Camera Shots in TV

                                  Camera Shots in TV

An extreme long shot is a shot that can be taken from as much as a quarter of a mile away, and is usually used as a scene-setting, establishing shot. It normally shows an exterior, and is often used to show scenes of thrilling action e.g. in a war film or disaster movie. There will be little detail visible in the shot, as it is meant to give a general impression rather than specific information.
Extreme long shot is used at points 0:06 and 0:21 seconds in this clip.

A close up is when a shot is taken at close range and can be used for an intimate view of something, Close ups can be seen in this clip at points 0:21 seconds and 0:34 seconds.

A medium shot is a camera shot in which the subject is in the middle distance, permitting some of the background to be seen. This clip has several examples of medium shots throughout.

A long shot is a camera shot taken at a relatively great distance from the subject and
permitting a broad view of a scene.
An example of a long shot can be seen at 0:21 seconds

The mid shot shows some part of the subject in slightly more detail, whilst still showing enough for the audience to feel as if they were looking at the whole subject. This is an approximation of how you would see a person in real life if you were having a casual conversation You wouldn't be paying any attention to their lower body, so that part of the picture is unnecessary. It is used in this clip at points 0:18, 0:33 and 0:43 seconds.

In a wide shot the subject takes up the entirety of the frame and the full subject can be seen. In this clip a wide shot can be seen at point 1:45.

A two shot is a type of shot employed in the film industry in which the frame encompasses a view of two people (the subjects). The subjects do not have to be next to each other, and there are many common two-shots which have one subject in the foreground and the other subject in the background. It is very useful if the film is about two people. The shots are also used to show the emotional reactions between the subjects. Two shot can be seen at point 0:19 seconds

An Aerial shot is a camera shot  taken from a plane, helicopter or a person on top of a building. Not necessarily a moving shot. The main source of light is behind the subject, directed toward the camera.

A point of view shot is a camera shot that in a short scene shows what the character or subject is looking at.

An over the shoulder shot is a shot angled from the height of another persons shoulder, the back of the shoulder and the head of the person are used to frame the shot.
